Solomy Namakula Sekatawa is a distinguished Ugandan corporate executive whose career stands at the intersection of finance, insurance, and organizational leadership. Solomy’s career in the insurance industry started at the Insurance Company of East Africa (U) Limited as  a Technical Underwriter and she currently serves at ICEA LION General Insurance Company Limited as an Assistant Manager -Finance and the Anti Money Laundering Officer.

She brings over fourteen years of leadership experience navigating high‐stakes regulatory  and compliance environments within the financial services and data sectors. Her journey has seen her build organizational strategy, form impactful partnerships, and influence reforms that strengthen Uganda’s financial ecosystem.

Her expertise lies in bringing value for money by moving beyond simple compliance and accounting to become a strategic partner who identifies opportunities for cost reduction, improves cash flow, and offers data-driven insights that guide profitable decision-making to advance growth with integrity.

Within the insurance and asset management space, she has been integral in aligning compliance and corporate governance frameworks with business growth.

Notably, Solomy has proactively engaged with the regulators resulting in successful outcomes, ultimately saving the company billions in potential costs . She firmly believes that robust governance and ethical practices are not impediments to progress but rather essential foundations for sustainable impact
