Reginald Franklin the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brookes Distribution Company based in USA has donated relief aid to needy children in Uganda.

Reginald made the donation during his recent business trip to Uganda upon invitation by the Office of the Senior Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs coordinated by the Trade and Investment Officer, Isaac Kigozi.

Driven by love and passion, the business investor vowed to offer any kind of help to pupils of Prainet Academy Nursery and Primary School that is run as a charity project by Girl Child Initiative Uganda (GCIU) a Community Based Organisation (CBO) based in Wakiso district in the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda Capital city.

“I live for moments like this, I love putting a smile on the faces of these little ones; we will continue to help for as long as we can. This is going to be our family legacy, we will make sure these children are successful,” Reginald said while donating items to the needy children.

Reginald noted that every child deserves the best education in life since it’s the basis for a brighter future.

Reginald and team donated items worth millions of Shillings which included; computers for learners to improve on their ICT skills as well as interacting with the rest of the world, exercise books, pens and pencils, chairs, paint among others.

While receiving the donation, the Executive Director, Girl Child Initiative Uganda (GCIU), Nixon Segawa appreciated Reginald for his generosity and bringing a smile on the faces of the children at the school.

“This is a good gesture, supporting a child’s education is the responsibility of us the elderly since education is the only knife that can be used to break generational cords of poverty,” Segawa said.

He noted that GCIU is a girl child empowerment and advocacy Community Based Organisation (CBO) with the major aim of reducing the rate at which children drop out of school.

“The organization is currently running Prainet Academy a school that offers free education to children of single mothers as well as teenage mothers. We do this through the help and support from friends and well-wishers,” Segawa said.
