Musician Bebe Cool believes awarding entertainers should go beyond buying a glass of Shs. 20,000.

In an interview with a media outlet, Bebe cool explained that the organizers in Uganda have made it a norm to gift entertainers with accolades with no cash.

He asked them to think beyond the wood and glass.

“I think organizers of these awards should stop fooling around with people’s names. Awarding people in Uganda should stop being just buying a glass of Shs. 20,000. They need to reward them with cash,” Bebe Cool said.

The Gagamel boss also emphasized that he will launch awards next year and the winners will be given between 5m to 10m each depending on the category selected.

“If I give somebody five million or ten million. They can use the money to improve their craft than those glass awards. We need to evolve and improve our awarding system,” he noted.

Bebe Cool’s comment come days after musician Spice Diana stopped awards organizers from ever nominating her without written permission.
