Centenary Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to community development through a series of engagements in Bundibugyo District aimed at promoting cultural heritage and supporting public health initiatives.

During a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Lt. Col Rtd Martin Ayongi Kamya, the Omudhingiya of Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba, the bank presented a token of appreciation to the Enjoghu Ya Bwamba in recognition of his leadership and efforts in preserving the rich heritage of the Bamba, Babwisi, and Bavanama people.

Cultural Leadership Engagement

The visit highlighted the important role cultural institutions continue to play in promoting unity, identity, and development within communities. Centenary Bank noted that it remains committed to working closely with cultural leaders and local communities to improve livelihoods and expand financial inclusion across the Rwenzori region.

Hospital Support Donation

In another engagement, the bank’s team visited Bundibugyo General Hospital where they met Executive Consultant Dr. James Maisaba. As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Centenary Bank donated waste management bins to support hygiene and sanitation at the hospital.

Bank officials said clean and safe health facilities are essential in delivering quality healthcare and improving community wellbeing.

Broader Community Investments

Over the years, Centenary Bank has invested in several community-focused initiatives across Uganda including support for education programs, youth and women entrepreneurship projects, environmental conservation campaigns, health outreach activities, and financial literacy training.

The bank has also continued to champion agricultural financing and SME development, especially in rural communities where access to banking services remains limited.

Through such initiatives, Centenary Bank continues to position itself not only as a financial institution but also as a key partner in community transformation and sustainable development.
