In a career spanning over 14 years, Helen Wanyana Ddungu has established herself as a transformative leader in Uganda’s banking sector. Currently serving as Head of Retail Banking at I&M Bank Uganda, Helen combines deep industry expertise with a passion for driving innovation and empowering customers from all walks of life.

At I&M Bank, Helen has been instrumental in rolling out customer-centric initiatives such as the Loan Repayment Holiday and the Express Account—digital-first solutions designed to enhance financial flexibility and convenience. During a recent appearance on NBS Television’s Breakfast Meeting, she shared, “2024 was a year of immense growth and innovation for I&M Bank Uganda… It marked five decades of being a trusted partner in banking”, reinforcing her belief that retail banking should be both inclusive and forward-thinking.
