Juuko: Uganda targets World Cup qualification

Uganda Cranes defender Murushid Juuko said that their main focus is World Cup qualification.

Juuko was the last player on the local legion of players summoned by head coach Micho.

Cranes is preparing for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers.

‘I am humbled to be part of the Uganda Cranes,” Juuko said before adding.

“The current camp is jovial and focused to make it happy.”

“I call upon the fans to fully support us and the stakeholders to rally behind the team.”

“We have the ability to make it to the FIFA World Cup,” he added.

He took part in two hour session at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo during the morning session.

Express’ other five players on the national team are left back Arthur Kiggundu.”

Others include midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba, goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa, forward Martin Kizza and captain Enock Walusimbi.

On Thursday evening, the team held a gym session for more power, stamina and endurance.

FUFA plans to hold a couple of international friendly matches for the Uganda Cranes.

Uganda plays Kenya away on 2nd September 2021.

They will host Mali on 6th September 2021 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Rwanda is the other country in group E.
